3D Printer Parts

Simply put, we 3D print parts on a Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printer. The process starts with an idea. For us it’s always been a solution to something personal. With that idea the design is developed in SolidWorks. SolidWorks is a professional level 3D modeling software used by top companies to design anything from wheelbarrows to nuclear reactors. That design is then converted into a STL file suitable for processing a 3D printed item. That STL is then sliced in horizontal layers that the printer can then print. Even the smallest part has many layers. Each subsequent layer melts into the first layer. If done properly the 3D printed part is almost a solid plastic part. How the part is oriented on the printer bed can be the difference between a great part and a failed part.
